Brave Chinese defector Chen Yonglin has been granted a permanent Australian protection visa. “I was from a different world and that’s (been) my dream to start a new life, totally different from my past,” Mr Chen said. “I believe it will be a life of freedom.” Chen thanked the Australian people for their support.
Chen’s claims of a vast Chinese spy network in Australia remain unconfirmed but similar reports have appeared in Canada.
