Us and those people over there

Daniel Gillerman, the Israeli ambassador to the United Nations, offers some hearty racism to the annual AIPAC conference:

“While it may be true – and probably is – that not all Muslims are terrorists, it also happens to be true that nearly all terrorists are Muslim.”

It may be true that not all Muslims are terrorists? Gillerman was given a standing ovation by the Zionist crowd. Let me rephrase his statement:

“While it may be true – and probably is – that not all Jews are Zionists, it also happens to be true that nearly all Zionists are Jews. Furthermore, it may be true – and probably is – that the majority of Jews will defend Israel’s action, no matter how illegal or immoral.”

It is usually accepted that the majority of those who practice the christian faith are not zionists.

Weazle-wording. Not “usually accepted”, the more accurate word is “true”.

But I have not seen christian groups use the word ‘deranged’ when describing the interpretation of scripture by those christians who are zionists.

You’re right – the more portentous words used are “deviant” and “heretical”.

Nor have I read anything mainstream to suggest this is a new interpretation.

The you should do some reading. The Zionist movement is largely a North American 1970s phenomenon. In the history of Christianity, that’s very recent.

  • No, I have not seen the words ‘heretical’ or ‘deviant’ used either.

As for a zionist movement, that was not under discussion. Just an interpretation.

Weasel words? Are you that ridiculous to deviate from discussion to insult? Are you addamo in disguise?
