Ex RAF officers (now dead but still anonymous) have actually admitted dropping mustard gas (under Churchill's influence) on the Iraqis. Word of mouth – the Brits apparently destroyed any written records.

Conventional wisdom was they were going to do it but pulled back from it for humanitarian reasons. But they actually did it in the early 1920s.
