A smouldering teen idol, eh? Woohoo!

  • I’m patiently tapping my foot waiting for the bat-winged monkeys over at Blairville to start making “smouldering teen idol – rah rah rah, chuckle chuckle chuckle – who does Loewenstein think he is” kinda noises ….until they realise it was his lordship himself who first applied that label to Antony.

In a lot of ways I support Israel, but I do think some things about it are becoming sick, like the addiction to military power.

With due respect to Antony, I would like him to spell out exactly what it is about Israel that he finds redeemable. I don’t understand how anyone can support Israel with reasons that are not based on some kind of Jewish exceptionalism.

As I see it, a state that is not based explicitly on secular principles will inevitably end up being theocratic or racist. If Israel were truly secular, it would cease to be Israel except in name only. If Israel is going to be secular, what is the point of a two-state solution? If Israel and Palestine are both ideally secular, why not combine them into one secular state? For that matter, why should there be a separation between a secular Israel and secuylar Lebanon?

  • Progressive Atheist, you are “the man”. This is at the core of the huge mistake. As I said before, tell the zionists to fuck off, get rid of the stinking fence, burn the D-9, tell the Palis thay can live anywhere they want, give them the vote in Israel.
