Here’s how it works. Israel bombs Lebanon back to the Stone Age. The Bush administration supports this madness to the hilt. The war ends. A shaky truce is announced. Israel is the loser. Support for Hizbollah dramatically increases across the Arab and Muslim world. The US is rightly seen as a pariah for fully backing Israeli actions.
And now “US officials” are concerned that Hizbollah is leading the reconstruction effort. When will they ever learn?
Absolutely disgusting, who is America to determine who can and cannot help rebuild Lebanon, in particular a group which is solely made up of lebanese.
The notion that Hezbollah may gain support by helping rebuild the south should be completely dismissed given that Hezbollah would have gained a ton more support from the destruction of the south to begin with (not to mention america’s green light to do so)
America is having a whinge about a situation it should take a large part of the responsibility for.
Is it just me or is it every time an American official says hezbollah they put it ‘iranian-backed hezbollah’.
Given who runs the US GW and co the answer is never
Israel, as always, in a war to prevent people helping others.
Oh yes. The long, painful and entirely transparent preamble to the next war of terror begins. I meant war on terror, of course.
The Bush administration is freaking out because Hezbollah have been so fast to take the lead in the reconstruction. What also scares them is that Iran have promised unlimited funds for the reconstruction, which in turn will increase Hezbollah’s standing in the region.
Finally, there is 10 billion worh of construction, and not only will no American contractors see a penny of it, Hezbollah will do it very efficiently.
And whaddya know, Israel has already broken the ceasefie.\
What a surprise!!

Thats the bit that hurts them the most, the great unpardonable ’sin’!!
This isn’t a surprise, but maybe the motives for ramping up hostilities are more personal than militarily imperative. Personal to some in the Israeli government that is, like:
Ehud Olmert and his wife being investigated over a property deal in which they scored a house at 8 Cremieux Street, Jerusalem for well under market value.
Justice Minister Haim Ramon being charged with indecently assaulting a fe3male employee on the very day the war started – talk about not focussing on the important things, no wonder it all turned out so badly!
And of course there is the ongoing scandal of the IDF chief lining his pockets with mucho shekels literally moments before giving the order to begin the war crimes.
The overnight attack may have been a diversion in the literal sense and one they may want to keep at least simmering if not boiling over.
Wheres a zionist when the indefensible needs defending? huh, come on stand up you sly dog
