Thanks for the positive assessment, Antony, although I do wish there was a wider field of politicians for you to have made your assessment from.

Hi Antony,

An excellent piece of writing. But blogging has so much journalism and so few objective measures of quality. As a tempter, we thought you might like to know how some other writers measure up in the thinking stakes. At www.oracep.com we use thinking hierarchies to extract and rate written thoughts. We call it Coning.

Michelle Malkin 65.5%
Adriana Huffington 82%
Marcos Moulitsas 70.75%
John Battelle 74.25%

Our rating chart:

A few years back, a trend started to emerge where the big blog sites started to generate more online viewers than the major news companies. At the time, it was argued that Google purchase Blogger because of the advertising revenue they could make by placing ads in the blogsphere. Clearly, Google saw the trend coming.

Overall, I think blogging allows people to connect and this is good thing. However, a number of countries limit their citizens’ access to certain content, while curtailing their ability to express their true opinions. There is a campaign underway to address this by advocating the used of firewall bypassing technology so persons living behind oppressive firewalls can get out.
