Actually modern Singapore takes a dim view of racial slurs and insults,because though 85% are of Chinese racial origins..there are substantial if small Indian and Malay minorities…all I should add are Singaporeans.
It is not allowed to make racial slurs or insults…there were riots in the distant past,,,if you want to see a society destroyed by racial politics just look at Sri Lanka,,or in the past Nth Ireland.
Indeed I think that you would be in trouble in Melbourne if you called someone a “stupid Paki ” or ” a stupid Jew “…in the pages of a public paper or weblog
