That type of brutality is not in their culture. It would be nice to think it is not in Israeli culture either, but the opinion polls belie that. Utterly misleading to impute - as many do - that when Gazans voted for Hamas, they voted for war on Israel. No, they voted for resistance to Israel as occupier - and for a much less corrupt administration than before. The Israeli electorate, on the other hand, has a choice of successful war-oriented parties that all seem to egg each other on to commit greater and greater horrors.
