Short memory? It wasn't 500 Shiites killed in Lebanon, it was more than 1,200 Lebanese (Shiites, Christians, Sunnis, Druze, atheists, etc). The bombing then, as now, was indiscriminate. This is how Naharnet.com reports the casualties: "The war killed more than 1,200 Lebanese, mostly civilians, and more than 160 Israelis, mostly soldiers."
