[...] The recent visit to Israel by Australia’s Deputy Prime Minister and a bunch of Murdoch columnists has clearly paid off for the Zionist lobby.
What the AJC's 2007 Annual Survey of American Jewish Opinion actually found was that an insignificant plurality of 46% supported 'the establishment of a Palestinian state', without specifying the contours of such a state. The 43% opposing it are within the margin of error, so we can't even be sure that more support it than oppose. Furthermore, it may shed some light on what kind of Palestinian state the 46% supported that only 36% thought Israel should 'be willing to compromise on the status of Jerusalem as a united city under Israeli jurisdiction' and only 12% thought 'The goal of the Arabs' was 'the return of occupied territories' rather than 'the destruction of Israel'. My analysis at: http://bureauofcounterpropaganda.blogspot.com/2007/12/who-pays-piper.html

The April 2009 ADL poll found 61% support for a Palestinian state without further elaboration. This is the same population 74% of who approved of the slaughter in Gaza, 54% 'strongly'.

The J Street poll conducted in early march found 76% support for a cynical demilitarised Palestinian state with 'land swaps' and circumscribed right of return. Again, 75% supported the Gaza massacre, 47% 'strongly'. My analysis at: http://bureauofcounterpropaganda.blogspot.com/2009/04/across-potomac.html

The CJPP site does not document their methodology or provide question wording and sequencing or any of the other metadata that would allow you to understand the reported responses. As far as I can tell the Morgan site doesn't mention the poll at all. Withholding such information conflicts with the opinion pollsters' codes of practice and undermines confidence in the results.

Jeff, why quote an Iranian President (denounced by his own people) to support your argument about what Palestinians want? Since when does he accurately speak on their behalf?

Many Palestinians simply want their basic human rights. It’s really not hard to understand. People are indignant for good reason, the statistics speak for themselves:

http://www.ifamericansknew.org/

e.g.

“123 Israeli children have been killed by Palestinians and 1,487 Palestinian children have been killed by Israelis since September 29, 2000. (View Sources & More Information)”

“Israel has been targeted by at least 65 UN resolutions and the Palestinians have been targeted by none. (View Sources & More Information)”

Where did they find the 636 people? I could find whole suburbs with greater percentages than that.

Aussies love to support the underdog anyway and idealism leads people to forget the primary fact about the situation.. Israel does not want to invade Palestine... Palestine will not rest until they have a Muslim state with Jerusalem as it's capital (that is a quote from the Iranian president in response to Obama's left speech about encouraging peace).

THAT IS A FACT! Underdog does not usually translate to riteous indignation.

You're talking about less then 40 people who support Palestinians over Israelies. It's not big numbers, and considering in your blog you're given no indication of the authenticity of the survey, I'd say it's not really an accurate response anyway.
