There is nothing of Morris’ previous occupation as historian in this piece of shite.
A kind of Israeli Charles Krauthammer.
The retching quality of this article is the pretend detachment, claiming an inevitability of process (driven by the evil empire to which the Holy City that is Israel is merely a passive respondent) that he, the ‘impartial’ astute observer, is merely documenting.
Whereas of course the article is an active piece of war-making in which the protagonist is urging on the devastation.
The other retching element is that the Guardian should see fit to give this wretched propaganda a ’respectable’ outlet.

Morris hasn’t learnt much from History about the devastation of warfare.
He is an ignorant man and in his case ignorance is not bliss it is oblivion.
Save us from warmongers and ideologues.
