I've been to a number of humanitarian operations in Asia (though none related to the present tsunami relief). The first thing that gets organised is nice hotels and big cars for the foreign staff!<br/><br/>It should be pointed out that the situation re our indigenous population isn't very different. Successive governments have trumpeted on about the amount they spend on the indigenous population. Yet most of the funding goes towards paying lawyers and institutions (and in the case of native title, respondents to claims).<br/><br/>PS: gutsy post dude. A lot of Australia's progressive powerbrokers have a soft spot for the UN mission in Cambodia. Yes it really is an industry!
