Taking some time

I’m taking a short break in Melbourne. It’s my birthday. How old? Let’s just say I’m older than Paris Hilton and younger than Gore Vidal. I’ll be back online early next week.

Some weekend reading. John Pilger’s latest New Statesman column, “The Epic Crime That Dare Not Speak Its Name“, compares the Iraq immorality with the Nuremberg trial of the Nazi leadership.

Check out the fascinating Democracy Now interview with the former head of Abu Ghraib, Janis Karpinski. She discusses how they broke the Geneva Conventions and Israel’s (possible) involvement in the now infamous abuse.

Israel is calling for Iran to be booted from the UN after its recent outrageous comments - though Israel’s actual behaviour, rather than rhetoric, requires more than condemnation - and keep checking the Huffington Post on the latest regarding the Plame/Bush/Cheney/WMD/Iraq illegality saga.

See you Monday.

Dreamboat, I think it is nothing less than astonishing that you would call for “more than condemnation” of Israel on the day that Iran has threatened to wipe Israel from the map. For Iran’s comments you merely call for “condemnation.” You have demonstrated for all to see that you are intellectually dishonest.

I must say that it is also particularly ugly given the fact that your co-antizionist have actually called on, paid for and applauded the murder of innocent non-combatants in Hadera. Where is your outrage against this? This is why you are called a self-hating Jew. Me, I wouldn’t call you this. Ben Soreh uh Moreh.

What must your family think of you? It seems the bigotry is not limited your your Iranian friends, who like you, spend considerable time attacking Israel. Funny that you could not live in peace there. They expelled nearly all of their Jews.

‘What must your family think of you?’

If they have half his perspicacity, they’d be very proud of him.

Are your family proud of you Mr or Ms psydoc? Would they recognise you by that name? Why not use your real one so there can be no mistake?

    Happy Birthday Ant.

My parents are very proud of me and share many of my views.
A number of Jews actually question Zionist dogma.
    Shocking, I know…

Many, many, happy returns Ant …

Humanity has advanced, when it has advanced, not because it has been sober, responsible, and cautious, but because it has been playful, rebellious, and creative.

Those dirty thirties tend to create a rebellious environment ;-)

The beauty of a religion such as judaism and a democratic state such as Israel is that dogma is allowed to be questioned.

But antisemites, especially those acidentally born to Jews, don’t like to hear that.

    It disturbs them.

    Shocking, I know…

Very interesting blog !!! , i really appreciate open-minded people specially when they are jews ,i’m Mohamed , algerian journalist, polyglott and blogger , looking for friends among bloggers ,as a muslim who believe in God and the day of judgement ,it’s a duty for me to condemn any form of discrimination or opression against anybody whatever his religion or race ,as for the statement of the iranian president , i should recognize that its main purpose is to win support of muslim people around the world and to win more popularity ,it’s not a revelation , every single honest human beeing in the world knows that Israel is an illegitime state which main foundation is the bodies of innocent palestinians and arabs ,i’m wondering if the founders of the state of Israel were creating the so-called kingdom of God by violating his orders !!!! ( don’t kill , don’t steal ,…..)it’s a shame to call a state which is opressing innocent people everyday after a great honoured prophet(prophet Israel peace be upon him),hope we will be friends Antony , congratulations again and pls visit my blog and let a comment .
