Iraqi blogger Treasure of Baghdad reflects on the latest violent outrage:
And now, I am sad to see a country suffered from tyranny will suffer from a civil war. I am afraid that we’ll have the same fate of Lebanon. I don’t know if this civil strife will stop or continue. Even under dictatorship and tyranny, we have not gone through such a day. It is hard to see this beautiful and ancient country destroyed. It seems what the Americans have done was not enough. Iraqis should suffer, be killed, watch themselves humiliated, and kill each other just because America wants to remove Saddam from its way to make the world safer. Or let’s say to make America safer and hell be with the non-Americans as some of them say. Let the whole world be happy and “safe” now because Iraq’s “liberation” made it safe for them, but unfortunately made it a hell for Iraqis.

Except that Iraq’s invasion has not made it safer for America or the world.
While I am actually beginning to think that the American administration knows more about who was actually behind 9/11 and was more involved in it, the reality is that what has come out of that event has made the world a far more dangerous place and ‘created’ Islamic militarism, or Arab militarism, where it did not exist before.
Perhaps whoever is behind all this really does just want war, war and more war. There are always those who profit from war and fortunes are made in a moment; and there are always those who are happy to use war to establish, maintain or strengthen their own power.
It is hard not to reach a point where one believes America is either absolutely incompetent (and believe me I have spent enough time there to know it is nowhere near as efficient or competent as it believes itself to be) in terms of what it has done in Iraq, or, what Iraq has become is exactly what America wanted it to become.
I am not sure which scenario is worse!
