David, it is the only incident mention by Jamail. Why you are not following that is a puzzle.

A trend is based on a sizeable sampe of incidents. not just 2 occurences. Jamail has been proven right on many occasions. a yer before the white phsphorous news broke out, he reported on the reports that chemical weapons had been used in Fallujah and that the US were removing large ares of topsoil from affected areas.

You're not following along, Chris.

It appears there are a number of incidents where factions in the Iraqi resistance invoked solidarity with the Palestinian resistance, and used it as justification for specific attacks. I'm wondering why we were never told this. It strikes me as interesting.

I'm not particularly interested in whether the "trend" is accelerating or not, just why something as inflammatory as "Iraq and Palestine have the same destiny" was not reported in our media--even if it was only a single incident, as you claim.

(Although how you can know it was a single incident totally escapes me. Are you posting from Iraq?)

Jamail listed one incident as his trend starter. It was compared to the two deadliest incidents in iraq at the time. No correlation. His theory, based on the information he provided, was incorrect.

It appears he applied the blind pig theory and failed.

You mean Muqtada al-Sadr didn't make the statement, "From here I announce my solidarity with the genuine unity announced by Hezbollah general secretary Hassan Nasrallah with the mujahideen movement Hamas. Let them consider me their striking hand in Iraq whenever the need arises. As the martyr Sheikh Ahmed Yassin said, Iraq and Palestine have the same destiny"?

No pamphlets were distributed at the scene of the Blackwater killings which declared the attack was carried out in the name of Yassin?

Jamail is lying?

Using Jamail's own example, it was shown that there is no tie-in. Now, if he would actually provide some semblance of proof rather than toss off a guess in the hopes that someone else will do the grunt work...

"not widely reported in the media, becasue they signifiy the ultimate failure of the Iraq invasion"

I disagree that it has anything to do with a fear of reporting failure. I suspect it has everything to do with a fear of suggesting any tie-in to what's going on in the West Bank and Gaza.

Don't you remember how Americans were told that 9/11 was caused by men who "envied their freedoms"? Most still believe that.

Certainyl there are many developments i nIraq which are not being widely reported in the media, becasue they signifiy the ultimate failure of the Iraq invasion.

The Americans are in for a head-on collision with the Shi'ite majority, the very forces their invasion and occupation have brought to power.

Unlike Chris, I was surprised to see the explicit invocation of Israeli assassinations in the West Bank used to justify attacks against the U.S. in Iraq. (I'm not talking about a general hatred and distrust which I assume everyone recognizes is part of the blowback from a pro-Israel policy.)

But I'm particularly interested in the media coverage angle: does anyone recall ANY media coverage of Muqtada al-Sadr's claim of solidarity with the Palestinians: "Let them consider me their striking hand in Iraq whenever the need arises. As the martyr Sheikh Ahmed Yassin said, Iraq and Palestine have the same destiny."

If there was, I missed it. Maybe, like the motivations of the 9/11 bombers, it was considered too dangerous to report.

Chris,

Smiths pointed out what actually took place according to the AFP. That you refuse to put 2 and 2 together, because it is not convenient to your agenda is not anyone's problem but yours. Evidently most onthis thread think your contributions are an annoyance.

Educate yourself for once and read abtou Occam's Razor. This forum is ineed for adults, not petulant trolls like yourself who are determined to sabbotage any thread that shed's light on what you refuse to question.
