As Israel’s 60th anniversary approaches, the country’s creeping apartheid continues:
Among the many tools used in the battle between Israel’s Arabs and Jews, you can add a new one: gentrification.
The Arab Association for Human Rights alleges that Arab residents in a seaside neighborhood of Jaffa are being driven out so that the area can be developed for wealthy Jews.
The inclusion of Hamas in any peace negotiations is essential. The fact that this is denied by the American political elite is typical of its delusions.
So the people that are living there illegally are being evicted. How is that apartheid?
Some time ago I saw a paper from about 2002 that published the results of dna testing of persons living in Israel. Guess what, they were all Arabs! Whether of the Jewish religion or of the Muslim religion. The only exception, I suppose would be the ‘ring ins’ from the archanazi (? sorry, my ‘Hebrew’ is not that good.) Anyway, their origins are from some Mongol(?)tribe in Eastern Europe.
So who is friggin legal?? Just wondering.
i live in yaffo and am active in my community.. this is far from accurate and basically opens the floor to call any activity a form of “driving out”..
there is a huge and awesome brand new arab high school being built in yaffo - almost completed - yet i havent seen a single new jewish school built in yaffo..
if you dont gentrify your discriminating and if you do then you’re driving people out.. are jews supposed to be banned from living there..
again - this is an irresponsible post about a topic that is not presented in a balanced light..

Here in Australia, it is difficult to obtain material that can be relied upon in regard to most happenings in the world. [there is a controlled mass media] The controlled mass media filter out what they do not want us to know. Thank God for the internet and journalists like Antony Lowenstein.
Your report is taken with all respect, but can you provide more information; such as a photo of the Arab Yaffo school, the manner of public entry, the ‘catchment area’ of Arab students, the number of Arab students or the roll call and whether the road entries are Arab or non Arab? (I mean Jewish or other)We need this information so that we can have a balanced view of the Israeli conduct toward your Arab (be that they are you) brothers.
It has been disappointing to read about your Government’s treatment of past President Carter and his peace efforts. He has been “sent to coventry” by the Isralei Governemnt. Why? Surely any effort for peace is worthwhile?
Really, why should a minute (miniscule miserable biblical mythological concept) area of the world cause so much angst and threat to worldide peace involving billions of souls. Seriously, you are insignificant, do not involve us, in Australia with your problems.
The US taxpayer is underwriting your standard of existence to the sums of billions of dollars and their soldiers are suffering; as homeless suicidal wrecks in payment for your continued existence in comparitive comfort. Please, just go away.
