Why do they hate us, Tommy?

New York Times foreign affairs “expert” Thomas Friedman really can’t understand why his beloved US of A is so disliked around the world these days. Let’s see, maybe this comment has something to do with it:

We should have done better in Iraq.

Yep, that Iraq war has been rather disastrous.

Oh well, Friedman must be gagging to cheer-lead a new war after November’s presidential election.

    I think it’s largely related to this assertion of Friedman’s:

    Which brings me back to America. Perfect we are not, but America still has some moral backbone. There are travesties we will not tolerate.

    This smacks of hypocrisy considering the government’s actions around the world in the past century and more. What is a mystery to me is how “why they hate us” can still be a mystery.
