The Cricketer’s Lecture Series is a new monthly event in Sydney aimed at stimulating debate on matters of public interest. The first was held on February 28. I spoke on the topic: “Spinning us to War: The Australian media’s role in the Invasion of Iraq.” In fact, I focused more on Iran and the mainstream media’s ability to spin government propaganda and seemingly forget the lessons gained during the Iraq debacle.
