The final act?

The Iraq war is lost. Pro-war commentators are now turning against the “liberation.” The director of Baghdad’s morgue has fled, fearing for his life. John Howard salutes the Murdoch press and its support of the Iraq debacle (surely the job of the media is to annoy, provoke and challenge state power, but clearly the Murdoch hacks are happy to receive largesse from Australia’s PM). 63% of Americans believe the Iraq war is not worth the loss of American lives.

But don’t worry, the fight against, er, everybody, must go on, so let’s now focus on Iran. It’s reassuring to think that public opinion is slowly turning against the ideologues, radicals and war-freaks that led us here in the first place. For some, of course, they’re attachment to perpetual war is an addiction too hard to break.
