The price of being against war

Information Clearing House is one of my essential daily reads (along with tens of thousands of other people.) It’s proudly anti-war.

But now news that its editor-in-chief has been threatened and fears for his life. More here:

Tom has gotten his share of death threats over the years, but what happened this week is a lot more serious.

Two days ago, Tom’s wife found three well dressed men in their kitchen. The man who did all the talking, told Tom’s wife (I won’t give her name) that Tom must “Stop what he is doing on the Internet, NOW!” As crazy as it sounds, he pulled back his lapel and showed her a gun of some kind which she could not identify. Like I said, Tom has been threatened before, but nothing like this. 4 years ago, he was in a parking lot at Long’s Drug store in Southern California and when he tried to open his door to get out, a man in a car next to him opened his door at precisely the same time which prevented Tom from getting out. Then, a 40-ish year old man got out of the passenger side of the vehicle and approached Tom saying, “You need to stop what you are doing on the web”.

Tom said the man was overweight and had his shirt untucked. Tom was taken aback, but (after collecting himself said) “What the fuck? Who do you think you are telling me what I can do?”

The man answered, “Tom, I’m just giving you some good advice. You should take my advice, Tom.”

I stand in solidarity with a man who is unafraid to publish the most unappealing aspects of Western culture.

  • Dead right; the informationclearinghouse.com is essential reading every day. {you will not find such news and commentary in the controlled mass media}I hope that Rudd, our parliamentarians and their staff read Mike Whitney’s article about Georgia, published today and also note the comments. Piers Ackerman, Sheridan and Gerald Henderson; I suggest you do so also.
Rudd: keep out of any more stupid criminal wars. Get out of everything north of the equator.

  • I’d like to recommend one Justin Raimondo from http://www.antiwar.com In particular his pieces dated 11 and 13 August on Georgia and the ongoing media fraud associated with that can of worms..
No matter how hard I try WRT the Georga debacle, I can’t see it’s anything but a frame-up on so very many counts.

Just ask yourself, qui bono, then imagine the utter shock to those concerned when Russia immediately called them on it.
It’s almost as if they’d been waiting for that imbecile leading the ‘democratically elected’ government of Georgia to try it on.
The beautifully savage thing is that they went straight past stalemate as a possibility.
