Afghan artists, journalists and musicians on the never-ending war

The recent launch of the Twenty Years project, on decades of war in Afghanistan, included two major events with Afghan artists, journalists and musicians playing, speaking and considering the recent past and likely future with the Taliban back in charge.

Night 1 on 7 October included:

MC Afghan-Australian human rights lawyer Diana Sayed, London-based Afghan artist Orna Kazimi and Paris-based Afghan artist Najiba Noori:

Night 2 on 8 October included:

Afghan musician Taqi Khan and band, MC Afghan-Australian human rights lawyer Diana Sayed, Afghan-Australian journalist Mahmood Fazal, Afghan-Australian spoken word artist and artist Elyas Alavi and Project coordinator, journalist, author and film-maker Antony Loewenstein:

On both these nights, we raised AUD$1740 for the Afghan Australian Development Organisation and its vital work supporting young people and especially women in Afghanistan today.
